Overview and where to start in your dashboard

Access the Exams area

From your CRM dashboard, open the Exams link in the sidebar. Cogniroot supports two exam types: stand-alone exams (private links) and course exams that live inside a curriculum.

For course assessments, you will embed the exam in the course so learners access it as part of their learning path.

Open the Exam Builder and Choose Exam Type

Create a course exam and enter the Builder

Select your course and enter the Builder

In the exam directory choose Create Course Exam, pick the course to attach the assessment to, then click Go to Builder. The Builder opens a guided, three-step workspace for creating the exam.

Use this entry point whenever you want the exam tied to a specific curriculum rather than a standalone link.

Configure Exam Rules and Settings

Set title, timing, scoring, and attempts

Edit setup to define rules

Click Edit Setup to set the exam title, add a description, and configure critical rules: timing limits, passing score, maximum attempts, and grading criteria.

Adjust the learner experience settings (notifications, feedback timing, and navigation) then save your changes and collapse the panel to continue.

Use AI to Generate Question Content

Open the AI modal and create a blueprint

Generate with AI

Click Generate with AI to open the configuration modal. Describe the exam's core topic, pick the target language and difficulty, and optionally upload reference materials to guide the AI.

Use toggles to control whether answers and explanations are included. Then select question types, set counts per type, and assign point values to build your question blueprint.

Review, Edit, and Publish the Exam

Generate, refine, and publish your assessment

Generate, adjust, and go live

Hit Generate Questions and monitor progress in real time. When generation finishes, items populate the Builder Canvas where you have full control.

  • Manually edit any question or answer to refine wording or difficulty.
  • If a single item isn't right, use the regenerate option for that question only.
  • When satisfied, press Publish to make the exam available instantly to learners in the course.
