Overview: What the AI Proctoring Does

Introduction to Cogniroot AI proctoring

What the feature provides

You’ll use an automated proctoring layer that verifies identity, monitors behavior continuously, and assigns a real-time integrity score. The system flags unauthorized activities and generates data-driven evidence for each submission.

This overview helps you decide where to apply proctoring and what to communicate to your learners and stakeholders.

Learner Experience During a Monitored Exam

Pre-exam identity check and webcam capture

Security check before start

When learners launch a proctored assessment they see an automated security window. The system initializes the webcam and prompts them to align their face and Capture a photo before proceeding.

This step verifies identity and prepares the monitoring session.

Learner Experience During a Monitored Exam

Full screen requirement and continuous monitoring

Enter full screen and begin

The platform requires learners to switch to full screen to maintain a focused testing environment. Once started, AI continuously watches for rule violations such as looking away, tab switching, or leaving the camera view.

Inform learners ahead of time about the full screen requirement to prevent accidental interruptions.

Learner Experience During a Monitored Exam

Warnings, session termination, and acceptable behavior

How the system responds to violations

  • The platform issues an immediate on-screen warning if a rule is broken.
  • If a learner repeatedly violates rules or fails to return to full screen within the grace period, the session is terminated and the exam is marked complete.
  • Accidental exits handled quickly will generally allow the learner to continue without penalty.
Reviewing Results and the Proctoring Report

Open submissions and view the AI proctoring report

Access results

After submission, open your exam directory and go to the results dashboard. On an individual submission page, locate the dedicated AI Proctoring section to see the candidate's integrity score at a glance.
