Generate an AI-Powered Course Exam in Cogniroot

Exam types and first steps

Cogniroot supports two exam workflows: stand-alone exams (private links) and course-based exams embedded in curricula. To begin building a course exam, open your CRM dashboard and click Exams in the sidebar.

Create Course Exam and enter the Builder

Select a course and open the Builder

In the exam directory choose Create Course Exam, pick the course to attach the assessment to, and click Go to Builder. The Builder is a three-step environment where you configure rules, generate content, and finalize the exam.

Click Edit Setup to set the exam title, add a description, and adjust timing, passing score, maximum attempts, learner experience, and grading rules. Save and collapse the panel when ready.

Click Generate with AI to open the configuration modal. Enter a clear description of the exam topic, choose the target language and difficulty level, and add any context the AI should use.

You can upload reference files so the AI uses your source material, and toggle response behaviors for answers and explanations to match your desired learner feedback.

Configure AI Generation Options

Select question types, counts, and scoring

Build your question blueprint

Choose the question formats you want (multiple choice, short answer, etc.), set how many questions per type, and assign point values. When your blueprint is ready, click Generate Questions to start the AI creation process.

You can watch progress live while the system builds the assessment.

Review, Edit, and Publish Your Exam

Refine the generated questions and publish

Finalize and go live

When generation finishes, questions appear on the Builder Canvas. You can manually edit any item or regenerate a single question if it doesn't meet your needs. Make final adjustments until you are satisfied.

Hit Publish to make the exam instantly available to learners enrolled in the associated course.
